March 5, 2012

I really loved reading your email today. It really brightened my spirits. What you said about Gerald is so true. It is all in the preparation to help them recieve the truth. I am so grateful for that understanding and what you have taught me. It is good to hear that Riley is doing good in basketball. Keep encouraging him to put forth full effort in that, school and most importantly building up the kingdom of God (Jacob two). I am so happy for Taylor and her progress in surgical tech. I pray for all of you daily and I love all of you so much. The weather has been pretty good out here also, we have been given the approval to go out with out suitcoats which is a great sign of the cold being gone til next winter. Well I have had a fabulous week here it is...

Things are really starting to move on well here in Stockport First I want to let you know what I think of Elder Ford. I have been serving with him now for four weeks and I am so confident that he has become a missionary. He has great ideas for planning and teaching lessons. He is confident in his contacting whether it is on the bus, at the door, or on the street. And because there can always be improvement he is still on the process of becoming which shows his heart is in the right place. He has taught me so much as his companion and I see it as a blessing to serve with him.

Now I want to Tell you about our dated investigator Stephen Carroll. He is doing very well. We have met with him four times this week and all within the walls of a members home. He loves the members and has made so many friends in the ward. He loves coming to church and he actively participates in all the lessons. He has made great friend with a recent convert in the ward named Tokunbo and he has helped Stephen out so much in his conversion and fellowshipping. We were so excited to hear that they have been "hanging out" this past week for hours at a time just being friends and occasionally reading scriptures together. Stephen is set on being baptised, it is just a matter of when. He is set for the seventeenth of this month but because of his difficulty of understanding all that is taught to him it may be pushed back a week. I am so glad for his progression and his development of faith in Christ!

I also had the opportunity to go on an exchange with Elder Webster. He, just like his companion, is so diligent in his efforts. He is fearless and strives to speak with everyone he has a chance. He has such strong faith and such a good character. Friendly with everyone which is a positive factor in all cases. One thing that I was so impressed with is his ability to teach people, not lessons. His teaching by the spirit is amazing and the lessons we had with the investigators were absolutely tailored to their needs. His is such a great missionary.

I am also glad to say that Herman Dias who we met at the bus stop a month ago on a Friday night is being baptised on the seventeenth of this month. We have made such a great friendship since we met him. I was so excited to see him at church a month ago. The teaching began from there and we passed him to the Young Single Adult missionaries and he has progressed so much. Every time we see him now he is doing so much better and you can tell the difference. I am so happy for him.

I am looking forward to this week and am grateful for all the success we have had. Many tender mercies the Lord has given us. I hope you have a great week. I love you!

Love Elder Tucker Corbin
