June 13, 2011

Thanks for the birthday wishes and also for the gift. I opened it up on Saturday morning and popped in the first Mo-Tab Cd and listened to it ever since. I am still on the first Cd, Peace like a River, such a good Cd. I love the song on there a Child's Prayer. It reminds me when I was young in primary and we would sing that song every other week. Ill rotate the Cd's in every week because i cant wait to hear them all but i didn't want to spoil them either so ill take my time on them.
We didn't go to the choir concert because you have to have an investigator with you in order to go but we couldn't get anyone to come with us. But we did play some football with the ward members and recent converts. Then we went and got a chocolate cake to eat at lunch time, so good. I have a picture ill sent it to you.
Sounds like Riley is doing great and having a lot of fun. That is so good, keep up the great work!
This week we went and stopped by an investigator this week named Rita, who has known the missionaries for a long time and that is because her husband, David, was a member until his name was taken off the list. They are so nice and say we are always welcome to come and visit. We had a great lesson with them which was focused on the Book of Mormon and its truth. We watched Jeffery R. Holland's talk from the Sunday afternoon session of October 2009 General Conference. It was all about the Book of Mormon and I feel we really got the message to them that it is the Book of Mormon which everything relies on. That is why it is the keystone. If the Book of Mormon is true, then everything in the church is true, from the prophet Joseph Smith to the modern day revelations of Thomas S. Monson. They really thought about that and we committed them to study from the Book of Mormon everyday and promised them that their testimonies will grow.

We also met a new investigator who is really prepared to hear the message of the restored gospel. His name is Rick, and we found him at the bus stop just across the street from the church building. We talked to him for a bit then the bus came and we couldn't get his contact details in time so we just got on the bus with him. Eventually, we walked all the way to his home and taught him the first lesson. He was so excited about the Book of Mormon and we committed him to be baptised and to come to church. Unfortunately, he was called into work Sunday morning and couldn't make it so we are planning to see him this week.
I am now in 2 Nephi on the Book of Mormon challenge. I am learning so much from it. I just put fifteen minutes of my personal study time in to it and I am making a lot of progress on it. I look forward to it every morning. I didn't get to this morning because I was preparing my talk I have to give this weekend in sacrament. It is a good one, Ill tell you how it goes next week.
Until then, I hope you have a great week.
Love , Elder Tucker Corbin
